Creative Consultant / DJ

Stephanie Gancayco is a San Francisco-based cultural producer, creative director, DJ, and founder of Hella Pinay, an independent platform amplifying Filipinx women, femmes, queer and TGNC voices. With over a decade of experience in design, media, and event production, Stephanie’s work is rooted in collaboration, cultural bridge-building, and the centering of BIPOC and women-led narratives.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Stephanie’s upbringing as a multiethnic Filipina-American informs her dedication to visually stunning Filipino representation that defies expectations. Drawing inspiration from subculture, nature and sci-fi, she blends historical and contemporary elements to craft authentic and boundary-pushing storytelling.

After pursuing her degree in Fashion Design at California College of the Arts, she moved to New York to work with iconic designers like Anna Sui and Vince Kamuto. Her deep connection to Filipino culture, ignited by a personal awakening in 2016, led to the creation of Hella Pinay, a media platform encompassing a digital magazine, DJ-centered club events, radio show, and biannual print publication that fosters dialogue and healing within the Filipinx community and beyond.

As a DJ, her natural aptitude for vibe curation has led to notable gigs including a private event celebrating the legacy of Filipina artist Pacita Abad at the SFMOMA. In her current role, she works with corporate and agency clients to produce events ranging from tech conferences to luxury experiential activations. Available for consulting in creative direction, production, styling, and costume/set design, Stephanie approaches her work with a culture-first, by-us-for-everyone ethos, always striving to create spaces where marginalized voices are seen, heard, and uplifted.
