SAMMAY “Ritual For Thrivation No. 02”
"ritual for thrivation no. 2 is an intergenerational, movement-based performance that explores the shadows of Philippine history and the inner worlds of Filipinos in the diaspora. Like all shadow work, it uncovers forgotten and unspoken truths as a means of necessary healing and care." - Rayanne Piaña for KQED Arts & Culture

SAMMAY “Ritual For Thrivation”
For YBG ChoreoFest, a mini festival of dance within the broader Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Curated by RAWDANCE, its nine site-specific performances highlight the spectacular strength, diversity, and vibrancy of the Bay Area contemporary dance scene.
where is the divine feminine breeding these days?
have you asked her for permission?
can you ask – can we move from survival to thrivation (together)?
This piece was a ritual performance to honor all those who have come before and will come after, for all of us in the trenches healing and actively choosing a different way for our lineages.
